Who are we?

California Precision Machining™ is the custom part fabrication division of Discover Trading Company, Inc. Our founders have been managing the manufacture of custom valves and related parts overseas since the 1990s. Discover Trading Company was incorporated in California in 2003 with the goal of helping small to mid-sized companies outsource valves and related valve parts from overseas. Our procurement office is located in Shanghai, China and is staffed by Discover Trading Company employees. With our own staff in China, we oversee the day to day operations of our partner factories and assure that the quality of the parts meets or exceeds our customer's requirements "before" the product leaves the factory. If anything does not meet our customer's requirements, we do not release it for export.

Why deal with us?

Simple, it is easier and more cost effective for you. Our main office is in California, you do not need to have any correspondence outside the USA. We speak English, understand engineering drawings, and have decades of manufacturing experience to know what you need. We then translate your requirements to the factories' engineers and "make it right". You pay our local office in US dollars, most customers are approved for 30 days terms once the regular shipments get going, so you receive the goods and have time to inspect them before you pay us. We take all the financial risk. We know buying from overseas is challenging and at times frustrating, but the rewards are high if it is done right. We have been doing this for quite some time, we know how to do it right and protect you from the hassle, you just reap the benefits.

Our president is a certified ISO9000 lead auditor and six sigma black-belt with over 25 years high volume manufacturing experience. We want to help you reduce your total manufacturing costs however we can. We have the knowledge to do it, and the track record to prove it.
